Führungs-Nachrichten-Regiment

Hi,
who can tell me anything about thhe Führungs-Nachrichten-Regimenter? Not the Tessin, so what where the Regiments doing, anything about the history.
Antworten auch gerne auf deutsch.

Hello!
The Führungsnachrichten-Regiment(er) were responsible for the communication lines between the OKH and Berlin to the Heeresgruppenkommandos and Armeeoberkommandos.
Before 1939 there was the FNaAbt40 which was mobilized to FüNaRgt40 on 24.Aug.1939 in Hofgeismar with two Abteilungen.
Soon after the start of the Polish campaign it became obvious that these two Abteilungen were not at all able of holding up the lines to the fast moving Heeresgruppen and A.O.K.´s.
The only Baukpmpanie of the regiment had to keep up the connection with a "14-paarigen Führungsfernkabels" which reached with the last available cable to ObKdo HGr.Süd in Lublinitz.
The rest of the connections had to be established by HGr.Nachr.Rgter.
They and the FüNaRgt40 received 15 Bautrupps of the Deutsche Post as support.
20.4.1940 the second regiment FüNaRgt.601 was established in WKXIII (Schwabach) with 1 Abteilung (3 Kpien.) while FüNaRgt40 was expanded to 4 Abteilungen with 18 Kpien.
For Barbarossa were formed:
FüNaRgt.597, 598, 604 on 5.2.1941
FüNaRgt618 on 15.5.1941

Hallo Christoph,
Du scheinst ein echter Nachrichten-Fachmann zu sein. Eine Frage: Bist Du Dir mit den Bezeichnungen der Führungs-Nachricten-Regimenter ganz sicher? Bei mir tauchen 597, 598, 604 und 618 nur als Nachrichten-Regimenter z.b.V. auf, zusammen mit einigen anderen.

Also meine Quellen sind eine Dokumentgruppe eines Offiziers einer Heeresnachrichtenschule und das Buch: Hans-Georg-Kampe; Die Heeresnachrichtentruppe 1935-1945 und in beiden Quellen sind 597, 598, 604, 618 als FüNaRgter geführt.

Nachr.Rgt. z.b.V. 597 (or FüNaRgt 597).
AFAIK it was organized on March 5, 1941, only with a regimental staff as a command signal troop (Führungs-Nachrichtentruppe). In 1942 the staff was with Army Group Center with the passage switching squadrons (Durchgangs-Vermittlungs-Staffeln) Smolensk, Gomel and Bryansk.
The only known CO (for me) was Oberstleutnant Georg Ruf 01.06.1942 - 23.03.1943. He was killed in a crash car in the road Minsk - Smolensk.
