Lt. Engelberg Lattka

Post by Marco Ferliga »

I'm looking for some infos about Lattka's 'Pazerjager company 3.' acting near the Don bend on Dec/42. On December 21st the company had got 10 'tracked vehicles' (probably mounting 88 mm guns) operating beetwen Jwanowka and Deresowka.

Any suggestions?

Regards
Marco

Could he be the same Lt. Lattka who lead 1./s.P.8 in 1941?

Akira,

It's possible!

1./Pz.Jg. Abt. 8 became Pz.Jg. Kp. 601 on 29 Jan 42.
Pz.Jg. Kp. 601 became 3./Pz.Jg Abt 559 (or 3./521 ?!?) on late 42.
Maybe the 559 Abt. was on road to join Korps Cramer !?

Greetings
Marco

Hi Marko,

sorry to contradict, but at the timeframe, PzJg Abt 559 was part of the 2. Hungarian Army (until 11/12/42 as direct attachment, from the date as part of VII. Corps, finally becoming Korps Cramer 1/1/43). So, unfortunately, the connection is not confirmed.

Best,

Abel
