Josef Deeker

Post by nazzman »

I could swear i posted a question here yesterday, but i don't see it today, so i will send it again.
I am looking for any info on a Josef Deeker that was in the luftwaffe. His name and FP info is in a helmet that was recently purchased.
Here is the info that is on the label.

Flieger
josef deeker
F P NRL 05404

I know flieger is Flyer. I know FP is field post, I know the L is luftwaffe but i have no idea what the NR stand for, or the 05404, which i am assuming is his r was his unit number.
How can i find out any info on him and his unit, is he alive or dead, died in combat? where did he see action if any???
Can anyone help??
Thanks
Nazzman.

One of my wild guesses would be that 'NR' stands for 'nachrichten', a signal/communication unit.
I am not able to help you with the number itself, sorry
