Looking for anything for the FG42

Postby Rommel8 » Sat Jun 07, 2003 1:42 pm

I know only 7000 were made, but I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has one, or if there are any dealers that may have one...

They are the most sought after weapon of the war. I collect k98k's. And in a my travels to gun shops, browsing gun auctions and web based resellers i have never come across one. They are the holy grail of WW2 weapons.

Same here. Heck, even the replica FG 42s go for $1500 or more.

Just do what I'm going to, make yourself a replica.

I have already made myself a G43 and a K98 (though I do own a real one too).

I also plan to make myself a Panzerbucsh (spelling)39, Grenade launcher converted from anti-tank rifle.

No mate they don't go bang, I am not that technically advanced yet. I am skirting on the edge of the law as it is so best stay as far below the radar as possible.....that way I can keep making my toys.

Cheers

FG42 repro site

Postby Osterhase » Thu Jun 12, 2003 9:29 am

The parts are expensive but you can build the whole weapon if you live in a class III state. http://www.FG42.net
By the way, I'm still looking for G41m parts, anybody have any leads?

@ Rommel8

I just had a lock at the site you mentioned, and I am pretty sure the reproduction FG 42 is not fireable.

Actually I think you cannot even fire blanks, but all parts seem moveable otherwise.

Guys;
We have one of the FG-42 replicas at the shop. All the parts move, it looks real, but they can not be altered to fire. they are built with what some people call "pot medal". Ours in the shop is for sale and we do ship. You can check out our web site for the phone #. I don't think it is listed on the site right now. We are open from 10-6 eastern and we are located just out side of Atlanta GA.

Nice looking example. Surprising how many of these appear to have been souvenired by Canadian soldiers!
