German March Songs?

Post by vorith »

Hi, first post. Anyone know of a site where one can download free heer/waffen/etc march etc tunes? I found a few and have several songs which I actually enjoy;

Sieg heil Voctoria
Frankreichlied
Infantrie (du bist die krona...)
Pa Vikingtog
Wenn die Sa und SS Aufmarschiert

So we're looking for more and we seem to have exhausted the source where the above came from. If no source perhaps a few more titles of that real motivating stuff and we'll give google a work out. Have been looking for Russian counterparts but haven't been able to find Anything - but for stuff like the Russian Army Choir....

What Were the most popular marching (or other) tunes for landsers? I know Erika and I Had A Komerad but don't care for either. I saw one mentioned in Sager's Forgotten Soldier but couldn't seem to track it down.

Thanks, Mark

Looking for recommendations as I've hit about 15 and don't like any of them! They're too nice or boring. Where's that ominous ss feel stuff?

for me the better songs are:

'Lied der pansergrenadiere'
'Panzerlied'
'Paradenmarsch Legion Condor'
'Von Finnland bis zum schwarzen mehr'
'Vorwarts vorwarts schmettern die helle fanfaren'

Westerwald, Erika, Lore,

Ach gut. Ich glaube Panzerlied was used (if not written for?) the movie Battle of the Bulge or something similar. Thanks...

Of course the "Panzerlied" was not written for an american movie :P

It was written in 1933 by the Wehrmacht Oberleutnant Kurt Wiehle.

What is correct, the song was used in the movie "battle of the bulge".

BTW, i like more the soldatenlieder, less the instrumental marches.

Some of my favourites: "Westerwald", "Erbsen mit Speck", "Das Leben ist ein Würfelspiel", "Erika",
"In einem Polenstädtchen", "Ich hatt' einen Kameraden", "Die ganze Kompanie".

Yeah, that is what I meant to type regarding that song.

"BTW, i like more the soldatenlieder, less the instrumental marches."

Yeah it would appear they've the best collection. This other longer list has so many I don't really care for. Sieg Heil Victoria is fun...

Um, what about Cabaret songs!?
