98K pouch-brown

Post by SOTD »

Original WWII German 98K ammo pouch..Marked "Karl Barth-Waldbrol" "1937". Luftwaffe..? Maybe...Brown leather. Early model. Pouch pockets are firm, but when first found, at a flea market in the 1980s, it was loaded with six clips of 98K ammo, which had corroded, and the clips were rusted, and the leather of the flaps bears the years of rust and corrosion...note black marks of edges and hinge point of flaps. Joints are very weak, and it is fit for displays only...don't go playing with this at a reenactment. I have attempted no restoration, but the white marks from corrosion on the exterior can be cleaned safely. Visually very nice and perfect for display. Pictures could be better...

Sold as is. $35.00
