8th Motorized Division in 1942?

Hi
Was an 8th Motorized Division operating in the Heeresgruppe Süd area between Summer 1942 and early 1943?
Maybe operating the the German III Panzer-Korps?

I can't find any evidence of this so I think this could maybe be a mix up with the 8th Cavalry Division that later evolved into the 8th Armored Cavalry Division(1943/44) and after that into the 8th Motorized Cavalry Division(1944/45).

Hello,

None of the units you list above makes any sense or did exist. There was never a 8th Cavalry division or a motorized cavalry division or an armoured cavalry division (whatever this should be) in the german armed forces. Maybe you can give more informations about where this strange info comes from?

I think he means a Rumanian cavalry unit.

Oh sorry I should have been more precise, indeed I mean Romanian units.
Looks like the next evolved out of the former as the regiments used are identical, so it should only be the 8th Cavalry Division in 1942. Thanks for the link.

Try this site for 8th Cavalry Division, which was in VII Romanian Corps during "Blue".
