Flakgruppe Auschwitz (Flak-Regiment 54 , 11. Flak-Division ) (ending 44 to january 45)
903 flak division from Saarbrucken. (ending 44 to january 45)

See: Nicolaisen, Hans-Dietrich. Gruppenfeuer und Salventakt: Schüler und Lehrlinge bei der Flak 1943-1945. 2 volumes (I and II). Büsum: Selbstverlag (privately published) Dr. Hans-Dietrich Nicolaisen, 1993. Pb. 1,792p. Illus. End of chapter source notes.

There is an entire chapter in Band I covering Flakgruppe Auschwitz from Aug 44 - Jan 45, including a number of personal accounts by members of the various Flak-Untergruppen und Flak-Batterien.

The book was privately published by the author, but used copies appear from time-to-time here:

Hi Janusz,

I looked up Sicherungs Battalion 994/995 but can find no trace of them, so perhaps I was wrong. Where are you getting this unit information from? Is it from Feldpost material? Can you give us any other clues?

Janusz may mean Landesschützen-Btl. 994 and 995. Both were formed in July 1941 in the Generalgouvernement with 3 Kompanien each by renaming Wach-Btle. I. and II./Kommandantur Krakau, these having been raised just a month earlier. Both battalions remained in and around Kraków where they suffered severe losses in January 1945. In March 1945 the remnants of 994 were in western Hungary and the remnants of 995 were in Frankfurt/M. being disbanded.

That makes sense to me Lorenz. Landschutz Batt was going to be my next suggestion, but was hoping for some clarification from Janusz.

Hello

It could be Landesschützen-Btl. 994 and 995.

I have info about this units from Rusian reports.

In 26.01.1945 rest 994 and 995 Btl. , 21 22 police regimens , 3 school Btl. SS , and part from 359, 344, 371 ID defended from the east Auschwitz. From Rusian side was ataking 28 Armee Korps

After this from the south of Auschwitz was defended 359 ID. From norths was 371 ID and 344 ID

I will be looking for this book :
Nicolaisen, Hans-Dietrich. Gruppenfeuer und Salventakt: Schüler und Lehrlinge bei der Flak 1943-1945. 2 volumes (I and II). Büsum: Selbstverlag

but if you see it somewhere please respond to me
