Postby Annibale » Tue Oct 05, 2010 2:47 pm

Gentlemen,
I am trying to put togother the German units that took over the prisoners of war camps in Italy during september 1943. In the Emilia area there should have been a Pioneer Unit belonging to tha 157 Infantery Division but I can't find anything information on the division, on the Pioneer unit. Can some one help me?
Thank you. :?

I dont think there was a 157th infantry division. In 1943, there was a 157th reserve division, stationed in southern France. it had a reserve pioneer battalion 7.

Annibale,

in Italy there was the 157. Reserve-Division from August to September 1944.
Then it was trasformed into the 157. Gebirgs-Division until January 1945, when it was trasformed again into the 8. Gebirgs-Division.
