Stalingrad

By the summer of 1942, Hitler launched his second East front offensive, this time in south Russia. Spread out over hundreds miles, the Wehrmacht seem unstoppable until they reach the borders of the beautiful city on the Volga.

Dutchman, thanks for your post. I always managed to find time to do my hobby, better than watch TV all night long... :D

Best regards

A typical 100 to 150-man Soviet strong point:
at the ground floor...a 76.2-mm AT gun with infantry.
at the 2nd, 3rd floors & at the roof deck...heavy machine guns, infantry in all sides & the individual 'Sniper'.
all infantry were armed with automatic weapons, grenades, daggers & spades.

This set-up can pin down a 3 infantry & 2 panzer division-attack. Hitler air-lifted a 5 elite Special Purpose Engineer battalions for this purpose using assault rifles, the flamethrower, the 'Goliath' demolition tanks & the 'Foot-Stuka' APCs. The Germans were losing 5 battalions per day in this kind of battle. The Germans also deployed the Sniper-versus-Sniper battle. One Soviet Sniper killed 127 Germans...
