Was II/PR 6 with the 3 Pz.Div. in summer '44? Also, who was the commander at that time and what type of panzers were they equipped with?

Yes, it was...5.Kp. seems to have been a StuG-Kp, 6.- 8.Kp. with Pz IV, AbtKdr. must have been Oberstleutnant Dieter Lühl as he was awarded with the DKiG on 1st June 1944 being Kdr. of II./PR6, later that month he became RgtsFhr. of PR 6.

Do you happen to know who succeeded Obersleutnant Lühl in command of II/PR6? I should have been more specific, the action I am researching took place in August '44.

The II./Pz.Rgt. 6 was without its 7. Kp. since Mai 1944 when it was assigned to the 1. rum. Pz.Div. to instruct Romainan tank crews. It did not return until early October 1944.

According to the regimental history Oberstleutnant Lühl had become regimental commander of Pz.Rgt. 6 in late May 1944. At the same time Hauptmann Voigts became CO II./Pz.Rgt. 6.

On the morning of 13.8.1944 Oberst von Bernuth took over regimental command from Oberstleutnant Lühl. Oberst von Bernuth was then killed by a shell splinter on 24.8.1944 and Oberst Friedrichs took over the next day.

The I./Pz.Rgt. 6 was sent to Fallingbostel in Germany for refit after fighting with Pz.Lehr-Div. in Normandy. It did not return to the 3. Pz.Div. until December 1944.

About the change in command on 13.8.1944: The regimental history does not mention any specific reason, just that Oberst von Bernuth took over from Oberstleutnant Lühl. Doesn't sound to me like he was WIA or KIA.
