German train sabotage

General WWII era German military discussion that doesn't fit someplace more specific.

German train sabotage

Post by Beershark »

Although I haven't seen it for maybe five to ten years, many WW2 documentaries used to feature a fabulous film clip, presumably taken by either partisans or Allied forces at the time of the incident.
It features a German military train travelling at high speed just as it comes to a stretch of line where I would assume that either a few lengths of track have been removed or the line has previoulsy been blown. The train is filmed right at that point and is shown hurtling down the embankment hurling tanks and armoured cars hither and yon. Soldiers are even to be seem jumping off flatbeds and leaping out of tank turrets. I would rate it as probably the most exciting bit of WW2 movie footage I have ever seen. Does anyone know where it can be accessed, since with modern technology I would like to study it with a good slo-mo.video
Cheers !
