What exactly is a Begleitkompanie? I know it translates to escort company but what did it escort? I know such person such as the
the Fuehrer and the RFSS had a Begleit unit but whoelse would have had one?
I once read of a DivisionsBegleit Kompanie. What would be their mission?

A Divisionsbegleitkompanie is for the protection of the divisonal staff and the vital installations of the Division. On my site you can see the Begleitkompanie for a Panzerdivision.
