Your tag find, dates from after September 1942, as originally the Battalion was formed in August 1939 in Küstrin, Wehrkreis III and named Infantry Ersatz Battalion 50. It was renamed as The Infantry Replacement Battalion (Mot) 50 in October 1941 before becoming Pz Grenadier Ersatz Battalion 50 in 1942.
At the end of the war many of the men ended up in Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein.
