Hi

Does anyone know what were the tactical signs for 8./Pz.Rgt.29 in December 1942?

Thanks for any help

Cheers

Hello,

Do you mean the tactical sign or the unit emblem? The tactical sign would be that for a Panzerkompanie. Pz.Rgt.29 had no regimental emblem but used the normal divisional insignia.

Roger, It is unusual to see a tank with the tactical marking for a tank painted on it.

Hello,

As said above tanks usually did not show the tactical symbol of a Panzerkompanie (few exceptions).

I have a picture of a tank near Welikije Luki, which I would like to use for part 2 of the division history (20.Inf.Div[mot]).
At the time Pz.Rgt.29 was subordinated to the division.

Look at the tactical sign next to the 141 on the turret (it is a Y with 2 or 3 horizontal stripes)
See attached picture

cheers

Hello,

That is why I asked above. You mix up a tactical marking and a unit insignia. What you see here on the photo is no TACTICAL marking but a unit insignia (Truppenkennzeichen). Pz.Rgt.29 used the divisional insignia which can be found on my site.

PS: Above you see the unit insignia (Truppenkennzeichen) of 18.Panzerdivision
