Hi Guys,
I have a quick querie... Kind of a long shot but here goes.
Could anyone help me track down unit details and any records of service for Leutnant Benke.
He was originally polish from the Danzig area and conscripted into the Wehrmacht and served as an artilleryman in Italy especially Monte Casino. He sucessfully defected to the Allies there and served with the 8th army in their artillery.
Any help would be much appreciated.
