Hello Charlyboy
I thought the division reorganised early 1944 in France.
March 1944 it "occupied" Hongary.
Ritgen mentions some Hungarian locations:Division Staff in Budakezy , Engineers region of Stuhlweisenburg, Flak Btl Komarom, Recce Btl : Rakosliger - Kidtarcsa - Cinkoda .....

T314 R1497 or 1498 might have something on Pz Lehr. I know there was material there on op. Margarethe (sp?).

Re: research on panzer lehr
The Panzer Lehr Division, which was to take a prominent part in the Normandy fighting, had only two tank battalions (though with four companies each) but there was a divisional headquarters company of Tigers, its infantry battalions had half-track armored carriers, and all its artillery units had self-propelled guns.nebelwerferXXX wrote:Panzer Lehr Division: Normandy, France 1944

All of its artillery was not self-propelled the first and third Abteilung were towed, German 105's in I and Soviet 152's in III, only II was equipped with the mix of Wespe and Hummel.nebelwerferXXX wrote:The Panzer Lehr Division, which was to take a prominent part in the Normandy fighting, had only two tank battalions (though with four companies each) but there was a divisional headquarters company of Tigers, its infantry battalions had half-track armored carriers, and all its artillery units had self-propelled guns.nebelwerferXXX wrote:Panzer Lehr Division: Normandy, France 1944
