German Infantry loadouts

Post by Stultz »

I'm looking for information on typical German infantry loadouts in WW2. What I mean is weapons, ammo, personal equipment, rations, clothing and the like. I realize that it would vary according to mission, climate etc. I'd appreciate links or posts, I'm coming up with little on my own.

I have found a couple of excellent sites with some information; Battalion organisation during the Second World War is excellent overall and has some info reguarding ammunition loadouts.

This site has a little: The Eastern Front, Infantry Equipment This is along the lines of what I'm looking for but would like more detailed and comprehensive information if available. Think "Soldiers Handbook" type stuff.

I appreciate your time. I apologize if the info I seek is easily found at Feldgrau.com; I couldn't find it if its there.

Thanks bro, that's a keeper! I've always been interested in this kind of stuff, some kind of fetish I suppose.

My Papa would facinate me telling me about the K-Rats with the cigarettes and chewing gum and Sanka, and those hard candy bars (D-rats I suppose) you had to "shave" with a knife.
