Which Unit.....?

Post by tigre »

Hello to all chaps; could someone kindly tell me which german unit this vehicle belongs to? :?: . The picture was shot somewhere on the french coast at the end of May or earlier Jun 1940.

Image

The vehicle (seems to me it was part of some MG or Fla. subunit) bogged down in the sand and was being dragged. On the vehicle's left mud guard an infantry (Mechanized?) tactical marking could be seen; on the vehicle's right mud guard as the unit's emblem a shield.

I did check in the Christoph's website but without success, no one shield matched it (there is a similar ones but it belongs to Korps Abt C).

Source: printed on the photo.

Any info/ idea would be appreciate  . TIA. Cheers  . Tigre 8)

Hi Raúl,

Not much help but I think the cart being towed by the vehicle that is getting towed itself is an MG-Wagen 36 (If 5) a cart that apparently was usually horse drawn but got "promoted" in this case.
Here's another picture of one:

Hello to all :D; could anyone here kindly tell me which would be the meaning of Kr Kwz 2? It seems it was attached/belongs to the 268 ID (General Erich Straube) in 1939. Thanks in advance. Cheers. Raúl M 8).

hi Raul,

I am not 100 % sure but I think it should be one of these three :

Kr.KW............................................. ......Kranken-Kraftwagen (Medical car/truck )
Kr.Kw.Zg.......................................... ....Kranken-Kraftwagen-Zug ( Zug of medical cars)
Kr.Kw.Zug......................................... ...Kranken-Kraftwagen-Zug

At the station yards. In the photo it is observed what it seems material of topographic measurement (tripods) and cases (with the instruments). In the back ground on a wagon a Soviet howitzer of 152 mm? And the personal equipment of the soldiers.

Hello to all :D; I'm looking for an infantry unit which saw action in Russia in 1941; its march's road: Priljatin - 16 Oct 41; Priluki - 18 Oct 41; Aleschanka - 14 and 15 Oct 41; Progrewi - 27 Oct 41; Karatschew 04 Nov 41; Orel - 06 and 07 Nov 41; then Jefremow. My guessing is for the 134 ID,but it could be the 45 ID so............Thanks in advance. Raúl M 8).
