New Section

Welcome to the new section specifically devoted to the German Army. This section is for posts directly related to the Heer.
Over the next weeks, threads from other areas which belong here will be moved over.

Isn't that a bit ironic for a website called feldgrau, that Das Heer has only just got a section?
I am assuming Das Heer was the largest german military organisation, no?

Hi Paul:
You are correct; the Heer was the majority of the German Armed Forces and most of the messages posted on Feldgrau were about the Heer and were found, for the most part, in the other sections of the site, most notably the "Units" section. So essentially the whole site was a "Heer" site, with sections covering the Waffen SS, Luftwaffe, and Kriegsmarine added. Some people felt strongly we needed to have a dedicated section for the Heer, so titled, so we added one. In short the Heer was always here, but now we have a titled section dedicated to the Heer
I hope this jumble of words has clarified the situation somewhat
