Leather Jackets

Post by Wilhelm Kruger »

Guten Abend Kameraden!
I was browsing about the web t'other day and found an odd picture on an Inf. unit's site: their commander, a Major, was dressed in standard boots and breeches, and what appeared to be a leather bomber-style jacket, with shoulder boards. Could anyone shed any light on this, as my curosity has been considerably piqued by the photo. This was not a period photo, however, but rather recent.
Regards,
Wilhelm Kruger

Maybe he used to be on flight status, but got grounded and transferred to the Heer?

Could've been. Never thought of that. Matter of fact, didn't even know that was done!
Thanks for your help,
