Der Baader Meinhof Komplex (2008 movie)

Post by panzermahn »

Hello Feldgrauans

Anyone watched this latest German movie, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex (2008)? I had just watched it I would give it 6 out of 5 stars!

Really good movie and superb performance by Johanna Wokalek as Gudrun Ensslin (Johanna really looks like the real Gudrun Ensslin).

Damm, how I wished I was born in the late 1940s and then old enough to participate in the Deutscher Herbst (German Autumn) with all the frei lieb and all those revolutionary coagitation :D instead of being born in the 1980s.. :(

It seems that being a socialist revolutionary, urban guerilla and Euro-bolshevism of the 1960s and 1970s would get you all the hot chicks rather than a straight-laced right-winger, eh? :D

Be careful what you wish for Panzermahn; those revolutionary types tended not to shave their legs or armpits, nor wash with any great regularity, considering good hygiene as "Bourgeoise" No telling what you might have encountered!! Of course you might be one of those types who likes that kind of thing.... Best wishes.

Err, I think you had a good point John :) I guess they all were attracted by Che Guevara, the iconic example of being a revolutionary extraordinaire. I knew an associate, he was a young man during the political unrests years in France especially during the 1968 student protests. A lot of street fights especially between the left wings and the right wings. When I asked him what happened to "bolshie" chicks he and his comrades encountered, he told me that, since those bolshie chicks were fighting for equal rights and emancipation, they get the same equal "treatment" (stree fights and bar room brawling) like their male comrades  :?

I grew up in the german 1970s, riding a HD Motorcycle was suspicious at that time.

First, you was suspicious, for a beard, a harley, the boots, the total outfit.
I had to dress out, in the sight of a Maschinenpistole, and I will never forget this...

The Cops did not look in my ass, . Scheisse...
