I have been waiting for this after all these years :D

I once read an article from FHM magazine (:D) that among all the nations, British Armed Forces actually had the most victories from the wars that they participated (bear in mind that the British Army was once of the few military forces in the world that has defeated guerilla forces). Second behind was US military. Germany was somehow ranked around 5th or 6th :(

(i know this slightly OT but...) To be fair the British/english have been involved in an enormous amount of wars over the last 1000 years so we're bound to acumilate a lot of victories and we've had some horrific defeats too!

Happy new year to everyone :-D

THAT just means that centuries of wars have given us some degree of expertise at "spinning" defeats... :D Like the European Cup fixture at Dunkirk...

Viktor Suvorov (Vladimir Rezun) mentioned in one of his books (I think it is "The Last Republic") that Soviet Union, in one sense, actually lost World War II :?

but in one of his earlier books (I think should be "The Icebreaker"), the same author mentioned that Soviet Union is the primarily the winner of WW2

i guess both are true... i mean the most homeland territory lost during the war and the greatest loss of personnel and weaponary has to go to the Soviets but they also captured more territory than anyone else, destroyed more enemy soldiers and equipment than anyone else and ontop of that brought nations under their domain for 50 years... the western powers couldn't say that.

I don't think the western powers wanted to be able to say that.

Again this is true

It is better to liberate than trade one dictatorship for another.
