National Scholar Hotel-Copenhagen

Post by John W. Howard »

Hello Gents:
Calling on all Danes, especially those from Copenhagen, for some help. My father spent time on leave in Copenhagen just after WWII, and stayed in a hotel called the National Scholar (or something to that effect). He believes it was close to the university in Copenhagen. I have checked most of the current hotels in Copenhagen and can find no National Scholar, or anything close to that name; most of the hotels in Copenhagen are part of large hotel chains. Is it possible the National Scholar was renamed and absorbed by a large hotel chain, or was it demolished to make way for new structures?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. If possible I would like to know the location of the National Scholar in 1945-1946. Thank you and best wishes.
