Good day sirs,
I am searching for information regarding the actual color of osttruppen collar tabs for turkestani volunteers. According to Osprey's Wehrmacht Foreign Volunteers and a few web based sources, the base color was red. Upon searching for photos of originals to confirm this i found no examples in red. What i did find in the Wehrmacht awards site was a set (with the "Biz Alla Bilen" sleeve insignia) that had the collar tabs in green with yellow green piping.

Most comments on this set though seemed to say the collar tabs were fake. Does anyone have any information on the actual color?
Thanks so much for your help!
Albert

Hello Albert,
According to David Littlejohn's "Foreign Legions of the Third Reich - Vol. 4: Poland, the Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Free India, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Russia" (1987),the Waffenfarbe for Turkistan volunters was light blue, as detailed in an order of 29th May, 1943.
