Wehrmacht Heavy Trucks

Post by tigre »

Hello to all :D; a new thread to discuss..................

A heavy truck with trailer!

What do you think a Magirus M 50 or a Faun? (perhaps?) belonging to the "Hilfszug Bayern".

Cheers. Raul M 8).

Hello to all :D; a little more..................

A heavy tank transporter truck!

Although this heavy truck is mentioned in the publication as a Faun, I think it's a -NAG Büssing Typ 654 (the cooler, bonnet, fixed cabin were different of a Faun) ...........

Hello to all :D; a little more..................

The FAUN L900 and its history.

The FAUN L900 was manufactured from 1937 to 1939. The biggest customer of this truck and trailer was the Wehrmacht, which used them as tank conveyors. The heavy Faun L900 pulling the trailer sd.Ah. 115 of 10 ton, was used to transport two Panzer I or II tanks and other similar light and small armored cars and vehicles in an early stage of the war.

The light divisions (Leichten) of the German Wehrmacht used this combination of truck and trailer until these units became regular armored divisions, then the Fauns and Trailers were transferred to the heavy maintenance companies of the tank regiments and were used Until the end of the Second World War.
