SS-Sturmbannführer Dr. Lagrou

Post by Stormman »

Like I wrote in my article, (http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=9562), in 1940 the ‘Algemeene SS-Vlaanderen’ was raised by the Flemish lawyer Dr. Renaat ‘René’ Lagrou, probably due to his contacts with the SD. In February 1942 he joined the Waffen-SS, where he served as SS-Kriegsberichter with the SS-Division Wiking. After some months he came back (from the SS-Ausbildungslager Sennheim?) as SS-Sturmmann d. Waffen-SS and SS-Hauptsturmführer with the Kriegsverdienstkreuz. After this period he would have worked for the SD. And I’m wondering, does some body have any documents of his time with the SD? Lagrou was later promoted to SS-Sturmbannführer (I don’t know why and when), and on the end of 1944 he was assigned as interior minister with the ‘Vlaamsche Landsleiding’, the Flemish government in exile.
Does somebody have any wartime documents about Lagrou? Or information about him I don’t have?
Thanks you very much!
Michael.
