SS Obersturmführer signature.

Does anybody know from who this signature is?
As you can see on the first picture he is Untersturmführer on 23 April 1942.
The second picture is from a letter and he is Obersturmführer, dated 09-09-1942.
So somewhere between those two dates he is promoted to Obersturmführer.

John is correct, the name is [Alfred] Hessler (Heßler). The following is excerpted from his CD-Rom Führerliste der Waffen-SS (© 2006 John P. Moore); Heßler has signed this "i.A." ("im Auftrag", by order / on behalf) of the Leiter of the Waffen-SS Replacement Depot in SS-Oberabschnitt Fulda-Werra

Heßler, Alfred
SS-Obersturmführer der Waffen-SS

Born: 18.09.1898 in Wölfershausen.
Died: ______.

SS-Nr.: 81 942 (Joined ca. 1933)

Assignments:
[As of June 1943]: SS-Ostuf. with the Hauptamt SS-Gericht.
[As of November 1941]: SS-Ustuf. with SS-Ergänzungsstelle (SS-Erg.St.) Fulda-Werra.

There were several SS officers who had the name of Hessler. I believe that Mike has made the correct match here.

I can't find one of him, and it would be interresting who the man is behind the signature. :wink:
