Leutnant zür See Broili

Post by Adam »

Does anyone have any information on a Lt.z.S Broili who participated in the capture of HMS Seal as part of 1./906?

I'm after first name, fate, service appointments - anything. Alternatively, if anyone knows a forum where I may find this information, I'd be greatful

TIA

Hello Adam and Hubertus!

Oberleutnant z. S. Nikolaus Broili's DOD indicates that he went down with the U-207, which were lost with all hands on 11.09.1941.
Sunk 11 Sept 1941 in the Straits of Denmark south-east of Angmassalik, Greenland, in position 63.59N, 34.48W, by depth charges from the British destroyers HMS Leamington and HMS Veteran. 41 dead (all hands lost).
