Hi everyone!
I'm new to Feldgrau, so please forgive me for asking a lot in my first post..
Many of you will be aware of the U-534 U-boat at Birkenhead here in England. Its future has been in question for a couple of years (since the closure of the Historic Warships Museum last year, things have looked even worse!). There is a chance that she has a new home, but unfortunately this may come at a price and she may be sliced into sections. This will sadly mean that there will be no more tours inside the boat and we will no longer be able to appreciate her size and presence.
I have started a petition to try and show that people are against the dissection, and feel that she should be preserved as a whole. I am trying to drum up a little support from people like ourselves, that have an interest in preserving WW2 history.
If you visit my site: http://www.atlantik-pirat.com and follow the U-534 link, it will lead you to the petitions. The No:10 petion can only be signed by UK residents, but there is a Global one that anyone can sign.
I hope that you can take the time and be so kind as to sign up.
Thank you so much in anticipation of your support. Without it, the U-534 doesn't really have a future (at least not in one piece!). .
Best wishes
Max
