I am researching the battle of Tukkum, Latvia on August 20, 1944 and am looking for information on the role of the cruiser Prinz Eugen in that battle. At this time I cannot afford to buy any of Paul Schmalenbach's excellent books on the Prinz Eugen. Specifically, I first want to know how the cooperation between the Prinz Eugen and Panzer Verband Strachwitz II was set up. Was there a personal realtionship between Der Panzergraf and someone on board the ship? Second, what was the target and how long did the bombardment last? I have of course read the account in Fraschka's biography of Strachwitz, but it is obviously inaccurate in many ways and I want the truth.
thank you!
