Kriegsmarine M.F.A. 256

Post by tex »

Hi all, i have a little gab that needs to be filled.
It's about the following:

6. Marine Flak Regiment -> formed 21-03-42
Consisting out:
- M.F.A. 236
- M.F.A. 256
- M.F.A. 266
- M.F.A. 276
(Just wondering why all abteilungs are like this, 236/246/256/266, ending with 6 and everytime a gab of 10?)

- M.F.A. 236
- M.F.A. 246
- M.F.A. 256
This is the abteilung i interested in cause this one was located in the provence i life in, Groningen.
Abteilung was formed in March 42, Delfzijl (Groningen). It was consisted out battery's of the following abteilungs:
- M.F.A. 236 --> 2/10/12/13 (this are the numbers of the battery's, 4 battery's from the M.F.A. 236 went to Delfzijl to create the M.F.A. 256)
- M.F.A. 246 --> 2

Total of battery's in 1942 was 6
Total of battery's in 1944 was 7

My question is the following: i just wrote down that in march 42 the abteilung was formed, but Groningen was occupied by the Germans in 1940, so what abteilung was there before this M.F.A. 256 was formed in 1940 till march 1942??

A possibillity good be that M.F.A. 246 was stationed there. This abteilung was formed on 11-1-1940 in Harlingen (Friesland, provence next to Groningen)

This good be the answer but as long as i don't see/get any proof i'm not convinced. I hope a forum member can help me out here. That would really help me in my study on this unit.

Thanks in advance
