I heard somewhere that the Freikorps had assisted the Reichswehr in occasional border skirmishes. I was curious, were there actual border crises during the Weimar Era and did these ever get close to provoking a general war?

There was no rebellion in a "Poznan" area as there did not exist an area called "Poznan". The name of the province and the imperial residence city was Posen and nothing else. There was a Polish rebellion in Posen.

Actually it took a bit longer to finalize the German-Polish border than 1919.

The plebiscite in Silesian area, wasn't held until 1921, where eastern part of Silesia went to Poland, western part to Germany and a small section of Silesia to Czechoslovakia.

However I don't know about the years when other plebiscites were held in other areas, that were thought to be separated from Germany?

The German-Polish border dispute lasted from the end of 1918 to 1922. The areas affected were East and West Prussia, Posen, and Upper Silesia. These regions were wracked by political tension and sporadic fighting. The most important Battle was the Battle of Annaberg in 1921.

From the Polish perspective the most important is the battle at the Olse river, which beginned on 23.05.1921 and lasted until the armistice was signed.
