SS/Police German Cross in Gold vol. 3: Nordland

Post by Mark C Yerger »

My newest is at the printer and should be available soon. Below the publisher's description and cover.

Mark C. Yerger

Volume 3 of this historically unique series encompasses the 11.SS-Freiwilligen-Panzer-Grenadier Division ”Nordland” and the developmentally tangent SS-Infanterie-Regiment ”Nordland.” 37 detailed award holder biographies in the established format include their surviving German Cross in Gold award recommendations.

Significant information on formation components is included. New biographical data for First Staff Officers, Divisional Commanders, and additional relevant personnel is revealed. Fresh facts are found for the Close Combat Clasp in Gold and Honor Clasp holders. For the collector and historian this new volume is a wealth of previously unpublished information on the Waffen-SS unit with the fifth highest number of Knight’s Cross awards, historically considered to be the best foreign division. Detailed appendix and addendum, 252 pages, 136 illustrations. Foreword by Untersturmführer a.D. Robert Rohr.

Hello Mark!

So finally Volume 3! I've also waited eagerly for this volume and can't wait to buy it. Your first two volumes on the DKiG holders of "Das Reich" are truly excellent! Probably the best biographical works covering award holders of specific branches and units that I have read. Thoroughly researched and crammed with interesting details. Highly recommended literature...

And we don't have to wait that long for Volume 4 or...? Great news indeed!

With best regards,

Fantastic news Mark. I hope the book is available very soon. Is the publisher taking any pre-orders now?

All the best with the future volumes. It is a must have series for anyone interested in the Waffen-SS.

Peter

I assume the publisher flyers go out soon with exact date and the pre-publication offer.

Mark,

Firstly love your books and can't wait to get your third. I do have a question though....what determines the units you put in your books. I assume the information at hand...correct? I only ask this as I can not predict when you are releasing DKiG book for 9/10 SS Pz Divs.

Cheers

Its decided by me, based on what units I feel like studying when I start :)

Like everything else I've done, I'm writing the books I personally want to read but don't exist, sounds simple but is how I work.

Mark has hit the nail right on the head: "writing the books...that.. don't exist". Apart from the fact his books are excellently researched and presented, they also break new ground. That's the reason I will without hesitation put in a pre-order.

In reply to PMs about personally signed book copies. I don't sell books myself but have a military book dealer friend whom I lunch with often. You can order any of my books via him, including reserving a new vol. 3 when available, and have them signed to you personally. His name is Jack Hatter of "Volume Control." His e-mail is [email protected]
