Winter Report 1065

Post by Maus »

Gentlemen,

I have another translation request. We are currently translating a 150+ page Winter Warfare Experiences report, and we have hit a couple of sentences that are giving us some problems. Take a look at the first two sentences under the number 1. of this frame (http://ecbiz76.inmotionhosting.com/~bburme5/page31.php).

The first sentence starts out with "Bei der..." and the second sentence ends with ".......zu machen ist". We have translated these two sentences, but I am not happy with the translations. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

Kind Regards,

Let's try this:

This has to be carried out step by step, i.e. always equip self-contained units which are then ready for action.

This applies in particular to snow shoe equipment for rifle companies which have to be fitted out section by section, platoon by platoon.

Can't find anything suitable for pp but perhaps you already have
Regards

Thanks Howard!! This sounds closer to what I believe the author was trying to convey!
