Kpen.

Post by GaryD »

Hello. What does Kpen. mean, as in

2 verst.

I translated this as "2 reinforced (somethings) of the regiment with 1 battery have orders to reach Senno by the evening to reinforce the defense positions of the Motorcycle battalion there."

Oh, I just realized that Kpen. is probably the plural of Kp., or companies. Stupid me!

You are 100% correct, Kpen is short for Kompanien/companies.

Thank you. One more thing. In this sentence,

I translate it as "The only unit that reached Kampfgruppe Licht was the Panzer Regiment with its command staff. It was subordinated to Kampfgruppe Licht."

Is that correct?

Hello Gary,

The second is basically correct except that "Kampfstaffel" are the fighting elements of a unit and not the command elements.
