Werner Scholl MIA May 1944

Post by Evie Lu »

Hello,

This post is about Werner Scholl, the brother of Hans and Sophie Scholl. He went missing on the eastern front (Mogilev, according to Hermann Vinke, in his book about Fritz Hartnagel) in early May 1944. Werner was in a medical unit - I do not know which one, and this is one of the pieces of information I was trying to find out.

He was born November 13, 1922, so he would have been 21.

His feldpost number (as of Feb 22, 1943) was 32 063.

This information might also be useful; In the early fall of 1943, Werner was assigned to a Truppenverbandplaz TVP (I believe) near Gzhatsk (a town known as Gagarin after 1968) close to his brother Hans' unit.

If anyone has any useful information, please comment on this post.
