Finding a PoW - and his brother?

Postby Jebir » Mon Jun 18, 2012 9:44 am

Hello

I have come across a letter from the Red Cross (dated 29/7-45) confirming that a named german grenadier is present in a PoW-Camp in the English Zone at that time. The letter is sent to a man with the same surname (his brother?) who is a sanitätsfeldwebel at Timmendorfer Strand, Lübecker Bucht, Ortslazarett V, Haus Kammer C 23. On another forum I have been told that Haus Kammer is probably a hotel of that name, but can I find more info on this place or man?

For the PoW, I have this adress;
The man's name and PoW-number
ex camp 2228
c/o PWIB. Curzon Street House
London W.1

is there any way I can find more info about this man - both before and after capture?
Unit, citations, release etc?

Regards,
Jebir
