Gen. d. Inf. Helmuth Volkmann

[Richard Murphy]

Volkmann was in charge of the department dealing with the development of new aircraft within the Reichswehr from approximately 1922 (When Kurt Student went to Lipetsk.) until replaced by Wilhelm Wimmer in 1929.
The only biographical infomation I can find on him on-line is at this site, and lists his pre-war posts as

Abt. Ltr. in Rw. Min. 1.4.34
Ubertritt z. Lw. Chef Lw. Verw. Amt 6 6.10.36

So, two questions; What was he doing between 1929-1.4.34? And, what were his duties at these two posts?
