Hello,
Does anyone know when Oberst Kurt Hummel left his command as Kdr. of Gren.Rgt. 124 (72. Inf.Div.) ?

Never to late but... although I don't know when he left G/R 124 he was appointed CO of the 352 Infantry Div on 2/3/1945.

I believe Obst. Hummel commanded 353. ID, not 352. Erich-Otto Schmidt commanded 352. ID from 15-2-45 to 14-4-45 (Mehner, "Die Deutsche Wehrmacht").
Sources for Obst. Hummel being at 353. ID are NARA FMS manuscripts B-298. B-109 and B-097.

A manuscript HPA index card for him shows 5.11.44 FR
