My half-brother (Teunis Biesterbos) served as a Foreign Volunteer with the Waffen-SS, and died from combat wounds on April 30, 1945, in Graz, Austria. His personal effects were forwarded to my father in the Netherlands, and they included a black-red Ribbon for Merit. Can the Forum enlighten me on the Terms of Reference for receiving this particular Ribbon, and is there any List of Awardees available (and/or photographic record) showing the Divisions in which they served? This would help our family's knowledge of the wartime record of Teunis.
