King Georg VI

King Georg VI was head of state during wwII.
But do he something politisch?
Ore was he only a symbol?

Not JUST a figurehead....but not a real political role either. On this, Henrik, its very hard to give a short answer, but if you hit Wiki under British Monarchy you'll find a LOT of data.

A short answer as I lived through the war. He was just a symbol but a very inportant symbol.For instance It was suggested that the two princesses should be sent to Canada . But the Queen said it was impossible for them to go without her and she would not go without the King who flately refused to go. His importance to the morale of the people was very important.

In Sweden Georg VI is wery undknown. And it is very litle about him on swedish.
