This may seem a very odd question... but does anyone know what the spectacles Hans-Georg Reinhardt (CO 4th Pz Div in 1939) wore. Not so much spectacles as double monacles with a bridge holding them in place. Rather looks like the Opti Grab from The Jerk. :D

Hello Halder!

Generaloberst and Schwertenträger Georg-Hans Reinhardt usually wore eye glasses of the Pince-Nez type, that is a pair of eye glasses with a spring that clips on the nose. Also a favored type regularly used by Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler...

Thanks Doktor.

I always thought pince-nez were something different, the little half moon glasses. But as pince nez means "pinch nose" it makes sense! :D

Hello to all :D; a little complement..............................

Planning the attack of the 4th Pz-Div in the Polish campaign in 1939!

Later in 1945 Georg-Hans Reinhardt was arrested by the US Army as a war criminal and in 1947 convicted in Nuremberg to 15 years imprisonment due "murder and ill-treatment of prisoners of war, and of murder, deportation, and hostage-taking of Civilians in occupied countries". He was released in 1952.
