Probably half of the approx. 200 SA leaders executed during the Night of the Long Knives

The gay community went through drastic changes since those times. One cannot get an opinion about Rohm and his men from what is going on today.

As far as i remember, his lover wasnt a member of the SA.
Wouldnt be that clever, wouldnt it?
But he was shot when Röhm was arrested (and shot afterwards).

Hello!

After the murders and arrests of higher SA leaders at Bad Wiessee on June 30 1934, the "Night of the Long Knives", Ernst Röhm was placed in the Stadelheim prison in Munich. When Hitler later the same day visited Röhm in Prison, he (Hitler) ordered Röhm's driver "Max" to be immediately shot and that Röhm would be informed of this. This act was supposed to be Hitler's personal spiteful humiliation and revenge on Röhm, maybe/probably implying that the driver "Max" was Röhm's lover at the time...?!
