Bio`s Required on Two EK with Oakleaves Recipients

Post by Brian »

I would appreciate bios on the following:

Bruno Hinz, SS OstFuhrer 1./SS PzGren Rg 38

Hubert Mickley, Hauptmann Kommander I./GrenReg4

Hinz recieved his Oakleaves on 23-08-44 and Mickley on 04-08-44.

Incidentally does anyone know if Mickley had British heritage considering his name?

Hi Brian,

I don´t know if this information would be interesting for you, but here it is:

Hauptsturmführer BRUNO HINZ
born on 25.08.1915 in Petersdorf near Nordhausen
died on 28.02.1968 in München
Ritterkreuz on 02.12.1943 as Untersturmführer and Führer 2./SS-PzGrenRgt 10 "Westland"
Eichenlaub (#559) on 23.08.1944 as Obersturmführer and Chef 2./SS-PzGrenRgt 38 "Götz von Berlichingen" u. Fhr. eine

Oberstleutnant HUBERT MICKLEY
born on 11.04.1918
died on 30.12.1944 (no mention about the place, probably KIA)
Ritterkreuz on 26.12.1943 as Hauptmann and Führer I./GrenRgt 4
Eichenlaub (#540) on 04.08.1944 as Hauptmann and Kommandeur I./GrenRgt 4

Besides that, there is one more MICKLEY who won the Knight´s Cross:

Major der Reserve KARL MICKLEY
born on 01.10.1910 in Kalbe/Saale
died on 25.01.1987
Ritterkreuz on 13.06.1941 as Oberleutnant der Reserve and Chef 7./SchtzRgt 304

Unfortunately, I have no information about their heritage. :(

Regards, 8)

Douglas.
