I just discovered that I haven't made a shameless self-promotion of my site here in the other site section. So for those of you that don't know the site it http://www.generals.dk and it contain a biographical database with in formation 15154 army generals from WWII and related wars. You will at the moment find a short bio on each general without any exact dates. The generals is distributed on each country like this so far:

I have just made an update to the database, which now includes 15577 generals and there has been added a lot of info mainly in the Belgian, Chinese, French and Soviet sections. It now includes pictures of over 200 generals (so few and so many generals).

I have just made another Major update. The database now includes 16434 generals and 447 photos. I have added a section for the Thai generals of WWII and I have started adding the generals of the USAAF in the American section. Other major updates have been made in the Japanese and Soviet section.

In the Chinese section I am in the process of changing the Romanization of the Chinese names from the Wade-Giles system to Pinyin. However it may take a few days before it is complete. As a result of the change I have added the aka's of the names in the Wade-Giles system and in Chinese characters when available. I have also added Japanese characters for the Japanese generals.

There will be a number of minor update during the weekend as well.

So I have finally finish changing the Romanization of the Chinese names to Pinyin. The database is at 16472 generals and I have added an additional 116 pictures.

I made an update yesterday bringing the total of generals up to 16598 generals. I have also added a lot of information to several of the existing entries, primarily on the Chinese, Japanese and Soviet generals. I have also added some hundred new pictures – including pictures of all the Danish generals during the war.

Today there has been another major update, with a lot of additional information on the British Commonwealth, Japanese and Soviet generals. In the Soviet section I have started adding the generals of the VVS (Air Force) thus bringing the total number of generals listed in the database up to 16754.

After four months I have finally made a HUGE update. The total number of generals is now 17364. I have added all the Soviet Air Force (VVS) generals and a LOT of information has been added to the Australian, British, Bulgarian, Canadian, French, Italian, Japanese, New Zealand, Soviet and US sections. Numerous pictures have also been added.

An update was made last night bringing the number of generals in the database up to 17409. Additional information was added to numerous generals from several nations. A lot pictures were also added bringing the number of entries with a photo up to over a 1000.

I am happy to report on the recent update of the database, which now covers 17653 generals. A lot of new information has been added to the Chinese and Soviet sections. The database also now contains portraits of 1832 generals.

I am proud to announce a major update to the database, and I really mean a major update. A lot of additional information has been added to the Chinese, Finnish, Hungarian, Italian, Romanian and Soviet sections as well as others. Plus numerous photos have been added. The database now covers 19740 generals with photo of 3167 of them.
