I dont see anything to indicate that the litzen are Beamte. Also can't make out if there are HV devices on the boards.

Re: Feldgrau author: Prit Buttar

Finished reading it and thought it was a good book. I enjoyed reading the action reports for the various pockets as I was not well informed of the events.

Thanks

It translated for me as "traumatic fever": Traumatic fever An elevation in body temperature secondary to mechanical trauma, particularly a crushing injury. Such fevers may last 1 or 2 days. The increased body temperature may help provide resistance to subsequent infection, and increased wo...

Re: Most expensive WW2 related books

The Schlicht/Angolia "Tarditions and Uniforms of the......" series tend to command large price tags as well. But that has to be quite a book.

Re: FGB prior to Goldap

I was wondering why Martins reply showed the II Bn listing m.SPW's as by rights it should have been a truck borne unit. Your statement about them being "lavishly equipt" explaines it. You also mention a 3rd Bn equipt with cars yet it is not mentioned during the battle! Does anyone know if ...

Re: 4. (Panzer) Kompanie / schw. Ski-Batallion 1

In 1943 when the T-43 was cancelled the Soviet command made the decision to retool the factories to produce a new model of T-34 with a turret ring enlarged from 1,425 mm (56 in) to 1,600 mm (63 in), allowing a larger turret to be fitted. I believe thats what it means.

Re: FGB prior to Goldap

If anyone knows where I could find more detailed information on both battles it would be greatly appreciated. Any kind of 'after action" reports or info on the disposition of the forces would be of help. Thanks Hi Martin Do your reports give a break down on the types of m.SPW's in the first Bn?...
