I don't immediately recall any other unit which used X0... Anyway, there were variations and we have to investigate each case to be reasonably sure...

18.Pz.Div. had Pz.Brig.18, to which Pz.Rgt.18 with 3 Abteilungen was subordinated in 1941, as read in page 344 of the book (Kriegsgliederung as of 25.5.1941).

Pz.Rgt.18 used X0 number for the PzBefWg III in Abteilungsstab at the beginning of "Barbarossa". All three, "10", "20", "30" are recorded in photographs.

8,8cm Flak auf Zugkraftwagen 12t / s.P.8 items

Hello, I collect photo and documents related to 1./s.P.8 (Panzerjäger-Abteilung 8). This was the only unit that operated 8,8cm Flak auf Zugkraftwagen 12t (only 10 built) - see photo at the bottom of this message. I have collected quite a few photos, but still there are a number of "gaps". ...

Heimkehr der Bessarabiendeutschen

Hello, I wondered on which board I should post this message, but anyway here I go: I have posted a new article on my website about the return of Bessarabian-German to the Reich in the fall of 1940, with about 70 period color slides in my posession. This is not something for Panzer/equipment lovers b...

According to an album I own from a member,

8.-28.7.1940 Belfort
15.10.1942- Pontivy/Bretagne

It appears that the Stab was still in Pontivy at the beginning of 1944.

Could he be the same Lt. Lattka who lead 1./s.P.8 in 1941?

Can you magnify and read the vehicle's nickname written under the gun? Does it start with an "A"? I'm interested.

Thank you for the bigger pictures! Breymayer is the author of divisional history. Not so often do we find names to this lower level, so I really wish the photos had some names on it!

True, most red-cross markings have white background as you say, but there are other examples and in this case, the medical unit marking led me believe that this is the red cross.

Anything to support my observation (other photos from the grouping and/or backside writings)?

No, this is 11.Panzer-Division. The following SPW has the famous ghost marking on the fender. I do not know the meaning of the white circle on kl.Pz.Bef.Wg., sorry.

The cross in photo b is actually a red cross marking!

This is apparent by its position, but if you see photo c you see a triangle tactical marking of Sanitäts-Abteilung.

Next to the tactical marking, you see a vague Wiesel. Therefore I assume this is from 125.Infanterie-Division.
