Generalmajor Hugo Ribstein

Hello,

Is there someone who can tell me anything about the death of Generalmajor Hugo Ribstein in December 1941? From October 1940 untill his death, he was commander of the 81. Infanterie-Division. I am curious if he died from enemy actions, illness or any other cause.

Thank you in advance,
Laurens

Thank you for the reply Jukka,

As I understand it, the price seems fair as compared to quantity and quality.
So far I don't have any books from JJF, but that might change real soon.

I was probably too busy looking at the platoon sign and mistyped the explanation for the number.
Thank you for the adjustment :D

Hello Brian, The square, the two circles and the number "3" on the left are tactical markings. In this case it means the following: The square is equal to an infantry platoon (infanterie zug) The two circles are equal to a motorized unit (mot.) The number "3" indicates the number...

The Combat History of schwere Panzer-Abteilung 508

Hello, Can someone comment this book as seen from his personal point of view? I always had a certain interest in the German units that fought in Italy (although my knowledge on that topic is still quite small and just contains the basics). The last time I went to a store I noticed this book but unfo...

The last picture is extremely dark. When looking from a distance, I can only see the forehead and an eye (at least I hope I'm right about that  ) Otherwise I can only cheer the fact that you make sketches about german or allied soldiers or anything else related to World War II. For example, I'...

Hello Sara, I remember that website, although vague. It held some personal accounts from members of the Waffen-SS, among other things off course. It was a long time ago and to my humble opinion there must have been problems with either abusive e-mails or problems with web hosting. After soldbuch.com...

56. infanterie-division in may 1940

Hello members, At one point in the German campaign through Belgium in May 1940, the 56. Infanterie-Division took position to start an attack to the south of the Belgian city of Gent. Infanterie-regiment 234 moved on rather well untill stopped by enemy artillery fire. During the night from May 20 to ...

...or to decline... I don't think there is anything to decline :D It is not possible to get any wiser from the back of the photos as they only have a simple number on it and no writings. Furthermore, the two photos were obtained from a random collection (I mean there is no large group or something,...

Hello Akira, I must say I was confused when I found this picture. The first moment, I also shared your thoughts that this was a red-cross marking. But compared with other red-cross markings, most, if not all photos with medical vehicles have a circular (probably white) background with the cross on t...

Photographic research (vehicle unit emblem)

I hope to get a response from someone on this forum in regards to my picture below. It shows the first two vehicles in a column. The vehicles have their unit emblem on the left side. I went on to search this list from Mr. Awender. It should be the emblem of the 72. Infanterie-Division. Is someone ab...
