There is a book out on the Knight's Cross recipients
of the Luftwaffe Fallschirmjager that you might look through and might discover who it might have belonged to. These are very difficult to accomplish since the medals themselves weren't marked. Mine came from the actual veteran himself and is so documented, therefore, I know who it was awarded to. B...

We have been talking about European Empires
because at one time or another many European countries had colonies in Africa: The Dutch, Belgians, French, Germans, English, etc. The Germans lost their colonies around the world after WWI. Some other colonies changed ownership as the fortunes of war dictated. I was refering to people who believe t...

Is there someway to attach photos
It would be very useful to be able to attach a photo like the SS Uniform Forum, et al, so that we can post photos of the things we are talking about - better illustrating our points, providing information on photos of items posted, etc.

Yep, this is OFF TOPIC
I think we need to learn the lessons of the Holocaust and the many genocides of the Twentieth Century and that is that unarmed citizens have no defense against a state-sponsored action to eliminate a particular segment of their society. Every act of genocide in the world has been against people who ...

My partner, Thomas Wilhelm of Colorado Springs, and I got acquainted over his site, The NSDAP Museum. We started to put together another pay site, Waffen-SS.com, with most of the juicy stuff on the pay side of the house. There was some historical stuff, organization, etc. and the forum on the outsid...

Edelweiss Badges
The Army used a two piece metal edelweiss badge on the side of their gebirgsjager caps, similar to the M1943 field cap but with a shorter bill. It has holes around the edges for sewing onto the cap. The Army sleeve badge for Gebirgsjager has an edelweiss inside a ring of interwoven twine. Leon Degre...

used by forces in the field and fashioned into clothing by them. It had provisions for the attachment of shoulder straps and had a bevo sleeve eagle. I've al...

In the Waffen-SS...
Enlisted men were provided their uniforms and equipment by the SS-Bekleidungswerke (SS-BW), which were manufactured by the inmates at the Concentration Camps, i.e. Dachau and Ravensbruck, as well as contracted clothing manufacturers. Officers however, were given an allotment of money in which to buy...
